If you know me, you are aware of the fact that I am not an impulse buyer. I like to plan my purchases to make sure I’ve done enough research to know more about the product. Yes, I like to plan.
Being a College student has meant that I was not drowning in money – quite the contrary so your gal had to be careful how she spent her simflouz on beauty product and therefore didn’t splurge on high-end product often. So when my best friend came to see me the day before my birthday and bought me an Estée Lauder lipstick and a Lancôme nail polish I almost cried. First of all, yes, she is the most amazing generous and lovable human being on this planet and she doesn’t even realize it. Second, she knows me so well that she got me the perfect shades. Best friend goals right there.
The Estée Pure Color Envy Lipstick in 420 Rebellious Rose has been my most worn lipstick ever since I opened it. The formula is perfect for me, moisturizing but not super smudgy. It fades really nicely but leaves a gorgeous tint to the lips. The color is perfect for me, it’s not too bright but still pops on the lips and goes very well with my skin tone. What I like to do is only apply a little bit by starting on my upper lip with the cupid’s bow, drawing the outside of my lips and then pressing both lips together to cover the bottom one and then patting in with my finger.
The Lancôme Le Vernis in 202 Nuit et Jour is my perfect nude shade. It’s of a pink-y mauve-y nude and is literally perfect for my skin tone. When I first applied it, I was scared that with the formula being quite liquid, it would mean that I would need to apply 3 coats and you’re girl ain’t got time for that often. However, after applying two super smooth coats, I didn’t feel the need for a third one. The wand is very practical so not to apply products all over your cuticles but rather very smoothly all over your nail very efficiently. I don’t get bubbles, it dries super fast which is always an important point for me and it doesn’t chip. I repeat, it doesn’t chip. My nails grow very fast so it just starts to fade at the tip in a very imperceptible way. It’s he only nail polish that I’ve applying because it’s so practical and the perfect shade.
