Summer, get set, sunscreens on with the La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50+

July 8, 2019

Writing to you live from the couch, with the fan on at high volume and a water spray nearby at any given time. Yes, it’s summer and I don’t even remember what it feels like not to be sweating from odd places – like the fact that it sweats behind my knees blows my mind.

And as much as it’s great to enjoy how sunny it is everyday, it also means that I need to protect my skin

I didn’t use to wear sunscreen everyday, I’m not proud of that. I just would wear some if I knew I would be exposed to the sun for a long period of time. Now I can’t leave the house without it on my face. I also saw a picture of a truck driver not long ago showing how the side of his face next to the window has been affected to the sun compared to the other side. Scarred for life, sunscreen at hand at any given time.

I’m very picky went it comes to sunscreen on my face. I have super sensitive face and if it doesn’t agree with a product, you bet I’ll have a rash or pimples the next day, and we all know how long it takes to get rid of the scars… I also hate the feeling of something sticky on my face, or heavy. When I started looking for a good far sunscreen, I wanted something that would feel light-weight and dry, whilst still providing a high protection.

After a little bit of research, I picked up the La Roche-Posay Anthelion 50+ sunscreen at the pharmacy area of my local supermarket. It came with a free after-sun screen, score.

It’s said to protect against UVA and UVB, a high protection (50+), anti-oxydant, invisible and ultra-resistant.

Upon the first try, I could tell that formula-wise, I would like it. It’s very watery so it feels light on the skin and super importantly, it dries down within a few seconds. I haven’t had an issue with makeup on top and haven’t had any sunburn on my skin, despite spending quite a few hours in the sun in Italy (travel guide coming soon!).

If you are on the market for a good, high protection sunscreen, that’s the one! It’s only about €12 so it won’t break the bank.

Summer, get set, sunscreens on!
