My weekly face mask routine

Face mask duo

I don’t know about you, but for me each working week is hectic. It’s work, go to the gym, meal prep for lunches, do the whole wash hair/blowdry it/curl it drill and work on my blog. I struggle to find time to do the things I love like reading, but also important tasks that my older self will thank me for – masking.

Doing a face mask is one of these pamper moments when I can take care of myself. But it’s also a time to make my skin look better in any way I want: fresher, glowing, hydrated, clearer… There are masks for everything!

Personally, I need masks to clean my skin and during these cold winter months to hydrate my face.

A duo that has done the job for me are the Caudalie Instant Detox mask and the Origins 10 minutes hydrating mask with Apricot and Swiss Glacier water (what a moutful!).

I try (try is the keyword here) to do a mask session twice a week. One on the weekend no matter what, but during the week it’s a bit harder so I split the process on two nights. I do the detox mask one night and the hydrating the next.

The Caudalie Instant Detox Mask really helps to get the gunk out of my pores. It’s not irritating – but don’t leave it on more than 10 minutes if you have sensitive skin I would say – and doesn’t dry out my face. My skin always looks and feels better after using this product, softer and more glowy.

The Origins 10 minutes hydrating mask is new to my routine. Because of how cold it’s been lately, I could tell my skin needed a little extra help. This product reminds of apricot-flavored yogurt. Like I had an actual Proust madeleine moment when I opened it. It has the same consistency and the exact same smell of the desert. Mind-blown. Apart from that, it applies easily, kind of dries down, does not irritate the skin at all. I use a wet flannel to rub off the product¬† and my skin feels all soft and plump.

What is the mask you can’t live without?
