I don’t know about you, but I do like having a routine. I feel like routines help me to save time and make sure not to forget essential steps everyday. I thought today, I’d share with you what a typical college day looks like for me.
I either start at 8, 9 or 9h30 a.m. but thought I’d share with you my routine for when I start at 9 a.m. as it’s the hour I’ve started class most days recently.
7:08 a.m. – My alarm goes off. I know, it’s quite early considering I start at 9, but I like to take my time in the morning and I have about 20 minutes of commuting so I like to have some spare time just in case.
7:10 a.m. – I get out of bed and go into the bathroom to do my morning skincare routine. I like doing it before breakfast so that my skincare has time to get absorbed so everything is nice and hydrated for makeup.
7:15-20 a.m. – I head into the kitchen and prepare breakfast. It’s usually oatmeal with half a banana and peanut butter or eggs, bacon and avocado so I feel full for a long time and I really like a hearty hot breakfast when it gets colder. I usually scroll social media starting with Snapchat and Instagram stories before scrolling through my Instagram feed.
7:50-55 a.m. – I’m done with cooking and eating breakfast so I’ll head back into the bedroom and start getting dressed (leaving the jeans for later because comfort first)
8:00-05a.m. – I brush my teeth and start doing my hair if it needs to be done, before doing my makeup.
8:20-25 a.m. – I start rushing a bit to put my laptop into my bag, check that my water bottle is full, put my jeans and shoes on, check I have my keys and tram card and head out the door between 8:25 and 8:30.
8:35-43 a.m. – I arrive at my tram stop and wait for the next one, as they are about 4 minutes apart I never wait for that long, and it helps me to cool down a bit from walking a bit fast.
8:50-8:53 a.m. (precision, precision) – I arrive and head for my class.
9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – class
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.– Me and my classmates either go the student restaurant (basically a cafeteria for students on campus) or heat up our homemade meals.
1:30-1:40p.m. – We slowly make out way back and usually chat a bit outside with other people, go to the restrooms and then head for class.
2p.m.- 5:30 p.m. – I sometimes have class until 7p.m. (and soon 8p.m. …) but usually finish at 5:30, I then make my way to the tram stop and wait for the next one.
6 p.m. – I get home, take out my laptop from my bag, and usually go for a run (a couple times a week) or head straight for the shower. It’s been pretty hot here lately so between the boiling classroom, the stuffy tram and the walking, I am a mess by then and me likes to be clean.
6:15-30 p.m. – I do my nighttime skincare routine and put on some comfy clothes.
6:30 p.m. – My boyfriend and/or I start making dinner as we’re pretty starved by then.
7p.m.- 7:45p.m – We eat our dinner whilst watching TV and talking about our day, I usually check social media as well for a bit.
7:45p.m.- 8p.m. – We clear the table, clean everything and do the dishes so that everything is ready for a clean morning again.
8p.m. – 9:45/10p.m. – This really depends, it’s usually the time I do some work whether it’s school or blog-related, schedule some tweets, edit some photos, check a few blogposts and relax. I really need to unwind at night as I suffer from anxiety and often/sometimes, nighttime anxiety. So I’ll usually watch some videos on Youtube or some shows on Netflix all cozy under my super soft blanket.
9:45/10p.m. – I make my way into bed to read for a bit.
10:30p.m – That’s usually when my boyfriend stops studying so we usually have a cuddle whilst he watches something on his laptop and I, usually -if l don’t have anxiety -will fall asleep. At some point whilst still not deeply asleep he finds a way to make me know it’s time for bed and I will put my phone to charge and turn off the light.
For some people, it might be a (very) early night but I personally cannot function normally if I don’t have a minimum of 8 hours of sleep, so as college is very tiring I like to make sure I get a good amount of time to sleep (the best I can) so I can recharge before another full day (but usually by Thursday, Friday if lucky, I am desperate for the weekend).
I hope this hasn’t been too boring for you I just thought I’d do a casual post to make me know my daily life a bit better as a student. As my schedule changes from week to week, each day isn’t the same but it usually is the same.
What are 3 things you do each day no matter what?
