I don’t know about where you live, but this year again, May’s weather has not been the best. Yes the temperatures have gone up enough that I can wear just a leather jacket, but boy, where had the sun gone? For some reason, I love the month of May. Maybe it’s just the sound of the world (yes, I’m that kinda girl) but it also means that summer is close! As a summer baby, I guess it’s fair to say that the combination of the beautiful weather, my birthday and being off Uni/work, makes this season a great time of the year for me. I cannot wait to spend evenings reading on the balcony, swimming and reading and just enjoying life. Summer is my season to live in the moment and enjoy every second.
And this year, it’ll be no different. I have a bunch of things coming up in the next 3 months that fill me with excitement.
The kitchen was the room that made us doubt renting our apartment when we first visited it. It’s old, low and overall neither good-looking nor practical. We had mentioned to our landlords that we would want to make some changes in it and they agreed to pay for everything if we built and did the work ourselves. Fair, enough. I’m going to spare you the issues that we had, but I have to say I really enjoyed the process. Looking at designs and imagining the look of it was such a nice first experience. Plus, it’s not our final home so we didn’t worry too much but instead learned a lot.
We’ll be doing the makeover at the end of the week and the only two things I’m dreading a bit are carrying super heavy boxes (20 to 50 kg) to our fourth floor – without elevator – and not having a kitchen to cook in for about 2/3 days. But I prefer to look on the bright side: a little handy project and an excuse to eat our or order food!
I have been looking forward to this trip for the past 3 months, and though we still have another month to wait, excitment is building up! My boyfriend and I will be celebrating our 9th anniversary in one of the most beautiful country I’ve seen yet and the one with my favorite cuisine. Get ready for neverending posts of cities and food on my Instagram.
This will be the first year we go on a proper city trip just the two of us for more than three days. And though I always feel a bit bad about not having my parents and sister to experience things with me (FOMO in reverse I guess?), I’m very excited. We haven’t decided on a location yet – I keep proposing destinations and proding B. to give ideas but this man has none – but I’m sure it’ll be great. I have been struggling with the travel bug latel- I just want to go everywhere! Hit me up with recommendations in the comment (or DM me on Instagram) pretty please!
I know that to some people it might seem strange that at nearly 25 I still go to trips with my parents. Well, you know what, I really like my parents. And yes growing up means that sometimes it’s a bit hard to live by someone else’s rules and all but they are pretty great peeps. The past year as been quite tough on the family so we are looking forward to having a good time together and just enjoy the moment. I think we are heading to a mountain city destination and I have great memories of our last trip there (about 8 years ago).
Aka farniente. I absolutely adore spending days reading crime/drama/ mystery / thriller books, dipping in the pool when I get too hot, chatting with the fam and then making a deliciously fresh fruit salad to snack on whilst still in the water. I can’t wait!
I have so many idea for new projects. As for the time being I don’t have enough hours in the day to do any of them, I’m waiting for my summer break to get some things going and words cannot describe how excited I am. I can’t wait to have all days to work on these projets and my blog, it just makes me so happy.
Ever since we got the tickets in December, my sister and I have been looking oh so forward to seeing Ariana Grande in concert this summer. And when she popped out another album in between and said the tour would be for both albums we nearly died of happiness. I can already tell it’s going to be amazing, both my sister and I get very anxious in crowds but we know that we’ll probably get so amped up by the atmostphere of the other fans that it’ll be alright – we’re gonna be alriiiight 😉.
