50 Questions I’ve Never Been Asked

October 1, 2017

I am a real nosy person in the sense that I love knowing what some people would call details. I find it so interesting to know someone’s favorite color, dish, country they visited. Questions like “if you could have dinner with any three famous people dead or alive who would them be?” really intrigues me because it helps me understand the person better. So even though I wasn’t tagged or anything, I was inspired by Lauren from Loulabellerose to do this tag myself so that you might learn a few random things about me. So here it comes…

  1. What’s your favorite candle scent? I am yet to buy a real good candle but I would say for now probably Vanilla or Coconut.
  2. What female celebrity do you wish was your sister? Selena Gomez, she seems so sweet and genuine and I’m sure we would have some laughs and talks.
  3. What male celebrity do you wish was your brother? Ed Sheeran for the same reasons as Selena, plus he could teach me the guitar 😉
  4. How old do you think you’ll be when you get married? Probably between 27-29. I think I’d like long engagements and I want to make sure to have the budget required to organize a wedding that really reflects us.
  5. Do you know a hoarder? No.
  6. Can you do the splits? I used to but not anymore, but I am working on my flexibility.
  7. How old were you when you learned to ride a bike? No idea…
  8. How many oceans have you swam in? Well technically it’s a sea and an ocean but two, Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.
  9. How many countries have you visited? Nine I believe : Portugal, Spain, the UK, Italy, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Poland and the USA.
  10. Is anyone in your family in the army? No.
  11. What would you name your daughter if you had one? Very good question… still thinking about this because picking up a name for someone that they’ll have for the rest of their life (unless they decide to change it) is quite a big deal. I have a few names that I love but haven’t decided on one yet.
  12. What would you name your son if you had one? I love Noah and Liam but again, this needs more thinking through.
  13. What’s the worst grade you got on a test? A 6/20 I think, not proud of it…
  14. What was your favourite TV show as a kid? Totally Spies, Sister Sister, Hannah Montana, So Raven, The Wizards of Waverly Place, Kim Possible, The Suite life of Zack and Cody. Cannot choose only one, sorry…
  15. What did you dress up as on Halloween when you were 8? Don’t think I did it as Halloween is not really celebrated in France, but probably a witch.
  16. Have you read any of the Harry Potter, Hunger Games or Twilight series? All three of them, every single book.
  17. Would you rather have an American accent or a British accent? I have an American accent probably because when I started teaching myself English outside of school it was with American content, but I think if I ever lived for a long period of time in the UK I could do the British accent as well but not perfectly I think. I honestly love both as I think they sound so amazing, I just love the diversity of accents.
  18. Did your mother go to university? Yes she did, she has a Master’s degree from the Université de la Sorbonne.
  19. Are your grandparents still married? Yep, 50 years both maternal and paternal grandparents.
  20. Have you ever taken karate lessons? Nope but I would love to do boxing.
  21. Do you know who Kermit the frog is? Nope
  22. What’s the first amusement park you’ve been to? Disneyland, le Parc d’Astérix, and another one which name I forgot.
  23. What language, besides your native language, would you like to be fluent in? I guess I am fluent in English but I’d love to be fluent in Portuguese because it’s my family’s language (my four grandparents are Portuguese and well, entire family) and in Spanish as well .
  24. Do you spell the colour as grey or gray? Grey
  25. Is your father bald? No, he just turned 48 and still has quite a lot of hair.
  26. Do you know triplets? Unfortunately not.
  27. Do you prefer Titanic or The Notebook? I can’t choose honestly…
  28. Have you ever had Indian food? I don’t think so but I’m sure I’d like it.
  29. What’s the name of your favourite restaurant? I don’t really have a real favorite but anything Italian or Chinese.
  30. Have you ever been to Nando’s? Yep and loved it! I got the Portobello mushroom and grilled halloumi burger and I still dream of it.
  31. Do you belong to any warehouse stores (Costco, Macro, Bookers etc.)? Nope, we don’t have that in France
  32. What would your parents have named you if you were the opposite gender? Alexandre I believe.
  33. If you have a nickname, what is it? I’ve always been called “Gaby” by pretty much everyone.
  34. Who’s your favourite person in the world? I honestly cannot do that. My boyfriend, my sister, my parents and my dog are all my favorite people.
  35. Would you rather live in the countryside or in the city? Tough one… I’m from the countryside and never really lived in a city for more than school years as a student. But I think I would love a bit of both. I think I would like to live in a city or very close-by while we’re still young and move more outside the city when we have kids.
  36. Can you whistle? Sometimes…
  37. Do you sleep with a nightlight? No
  38. Do you eat breakfast every morning? Every single morning. Breakfast is so important.
  39. Do you take any pills or medication daily? Yes, Levothyrox for my hypothyroidia and the pill.
  40. What medical conditions do you have? Hypothyrodia, I was diagnosed when I was almost 11 years old.
  41. How many times have you been to the hospital? Well, way too much for my liking honestly. First when I was 2 because I got a splinter in my finger that got infected (they almost cut my finger off…) so I had to spend the night. Then pretty often when they were testing me to check if I had hypothyroidia, then I got my appendix removed at 17 and a half (very precise Gaby) and then my four wisdom teeth removed the year after.
  42. Have you ever seen Finding Nemo? Yes I love it! And Finding Dory as well, such good movies.
  43. Where do you buy your jeans? Anywhere that have good jeans for petite women but H&M mostly and I have to cut the bottom…
  44. What’s the last compliment you got? Honestly can’t really remember… That’s sad isn’t it? haha
  45. Do you usually remember your dreams in the morning? Yes! Sometimes all of them. I am a light sleeper and I always remember them, I should actually write them down because I always forget the details after being awake a few hours.
  46. What flavour tea do you enjoy? Green Tea, Marrocan green tea to be exact.
  47. How many pairs of shoes do you currently ownWell I own a few but I only wear my Stan Smith and a pair of sandals I got a few years ago and a new pair of converse as well (thanks bf)!
  48. What religion will you raise your children to practice? I don’t really practice any religion. I was baptized and my grandparents, especially my grandmothers are believers but I am not sure yet, it’s something we will have to decide when the time comes.
  49. How old were you when you found out that Santa wasn’t real? Too young… Something like 6 or 8 I think, my cousin told me the truth… And basically ruined my childhood.
  50. Why do you have a blog? I love having a place of my own where I can talk about everything and anything I love. I don’t have many friends and they don’t necessarily share my interests (especially beauty-wise) and I have always loved writing, sharing and taking photos so it basically compiled everything that I love. I also love being able to read about other people’s passions and opinions and exchange with them. I think blogging enables you to find people you wouldn’t have known in real life, especially as we come from all over the world! I just love it.

I hope you learned a few things about me and if you do this tag yourself please do let me know, I’d love to read it!

Can you share with me your answers for any 3 of these questions?

xxx Gaby
