A Monthly Favorite Round-Up – May the Love Be With You

Okay so how come we are already in June? Every year months keep going by more and more quickly and I can feel my life sleeping through my fingers. It’s mad.

Because my brain needs to finally come to terms to the fact that we are in JUNE and not April anymore, I thought I’d share with you a few things I’ve love throughout last month.

Beauty-wise, I’ve been obsessed with the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation. It’s been getting way hotter here and having normal to oily skin means that I need a good not-going-to-melt-off-my-face foundation and this one is perfect. The consistency is amazing, it’s a thick mousse that blends effortlessly on the skin and doesn’t look streaky or detectable, if anything it looks even better with time. Products apply beautifully on top and my face looks way less shiny that with other foundations. I recently picked up the Yves Rocher eyeshadow nacré in 51 Rose Camélia. It’s a beautiful pearlescent pick and I love using it for natural looks, it makes my green eyes pop and though it’s not the most pigmented eyeshadow ever, I really like how it looks. It’s subtle but definitely adds a little something to any look.

As an accessory, I’ve been obsessed with my Capitola watch. I hadn’t worn a watch daily for so long, probably because I forced myself to wear it on my left wrist when I am a natural right wrist watch wearer *eye roll* (I’m ambidextrous). Another huge factor is how beautiful it is. I’m so happy I picked ip up in black and gold because it does with any outfit and looks very chic if I say so myself. I also love that there are enough holes so that if fits even tiny wrists like mine and doesn’t roll around. You can use the code GABRIELLESNOW to get 10% off your order!

I’m very late and totally against the flow with this but I’ve been loving Instagram lately. So much that I’ve written not one but TWO posts about it lately (you can read them here and here). I decided to give myself a little kick in the butt and push myself to work on my Instagram. I’ve been really loving how creative I can be with it and though it’s hard work, I’ve been really enjoying it. You can find me at gabriellesnow on there – plug plug, sorry.

Because my bank account has been crying a little bit lately, I decided to read again some old favorite books of mine so I started reading the I Heart book series again by Lindsey Kelk. Because I’m not a logical person apparently I started with I Heart Vegas because I hadn’t finished it (4/7) and then I Heart London (5/7) one of my favorites and I’m now back on the first one I Heart New York because I loved it too much for it to be over and I don’t remember much of it. She also has wrote a I Heart Christmas which is the last one but probably a special and now has come out with I Heart Forever which I am dying to get my hands on. I love the writing, adore the main characters, it’s so funny and light I can’t get enough.

Lastly, my absolute obsession – so much that I’ve watched it a second time. Queer Eye. This is the best thing ever. If you haven’t watched it you must do right this second. Leave this post open for later and go watch it. It’s incredible. It’s a makeover show with the Fab 5 making over other men. Apart from making over their style, food habits, homes, hair and lifestyle, it touches base on so many important topics like religion, coming out, confidence, stereotypes, and racism and so on but in such an honest, real, raw way that you cannot not cry at every episode (even the second time over). It’s such a feel-good funny show but has a lot of depth and realness to it. I’m going to stop now because I can keep going for ever. Season 2 is coming out June 15th and I CANNOT WAIT.

What have you been loving during the month of May?
