5 Beauty Steps to Keep your Skin Looking Bright & Youthful

Your skin is so important. It’s the canvas of our health. The largest organ of our body. It’s what becomes our biggest issue when growing up with adolescent skin to mature skin.  It’s important to take care of your skin so that you feel good inside for as long as possible.

Today I’m going to share with you how to keep your skin looking bright and youthful no matter your age. I’m not going to share with you product names because every skin is different, but more so steps you can follow.

Cleanse, cleanse, cleanse

No matter if you wear makeup or just go about your day fresh-faced, your skin needs a cleanse. Cleaning is so important if you want to keep the dirt, pollution, remains of make-up and sebum excess out of your pores.

Moisturize as if your life depends on it

Moisture is key for keeping your skin plump and alive-looking. I heard someone the other day say that moisturizers actually do nothing but just encourage you to massage your skin to help it remain stretch-y. Um, well yes and no. Yes it’s good to massage your skin as it helps the cells to regenerate and activates blood circulation, but moisturizers contain good acids, vitamins and protection properties.

Sun Screen because red flaky skin isn’t the goal

The sun is great for the mood and for vitamin D but it’s also a big aging problem. In the sun, your skin will start to dry out and burn a little bit, it will sweat out the hydration and accelerate the appearance of wrinkles. Too much skin exposure can also bring dark spots to your skin as well as skin cancer. I’m not saying to stay locked up inside and start becoming a translucent pearl. I love the sun and I like getting a tan, but carefully. What I advise you to do is to wear sunscreen or some sort of sun protection on your face all year round because even though the sun is not as strong in winter, we tend not to realize how much sun we are actually getting whilst in the car or any transportation or walking around. Also wear sun screen on your body anytime you are going to be in the sun for a long period of time.

Get brand new skin: Exfoliate

Getting rid of the dead skin cells lingering on your skin will help to give space and oxygen for new cells that will help you remain young-looking and fresh and plump-faced. If you prefer a physical exfoliant, try to use something gentle so not to irritate the skin. If you prefer a chemical exfoliant, look for something with glycolic acid which is a very small molecule that penetrates the skin deeply and helps to treat fine lines, acne, blackheads, dullness and oiliness. It has made an incredible difference to my skin.

Drink/ Eat your water

Stay hydrated people! Drinking enough water every day is not only important for your health and for preventing fatigue and hunger, but very important in keeping your skin looking good. By drinking and eating your water (by eating vegetables and fruit, high in water content) you will feed your cells so that they don’t dry out if you will.

The Extra Step: Spray

As I personally have a more oily skin, I don’t tend to spray some hydrating spray on my face when I have makeup on. However, I like using a product that will have skincare benefits when I am bare-faced. My sister uses a spray that has hydrating, soothing, redness reduction, purifying and clarifying properties which is great because it feels like water on the skin. Then you have a little more plumping and clearing effect.

  1. I agree so much with all these steps! Moisturizing is important definitely not just for massaging your face! It’s good for all skin types to moisturize properly! I have to say my favorite skincare step is exfoliating but I do need to be more consistent about wearing sunscreen! Especially since I live in Florida and it’s hot all year around!
